TMS Founder and CEO
My name is Kenny Sanchez and I am the President of
Thoroughbred Marketing Solutions. I formed this company because
of my love for horses and videography. For the past 22 years I have
been racing, training, and exercising horses while pursuing my business
career and studying the various aspects of multimedia and marketing.
In 1982, I began my employment in the equine industry
as a “hotwalker” at Santa Anita Park. After one year
of experience working with horses in this manner I discovered that
I had a strong desire to learn to ride. I was introduced to a well-known
horse trainer and soon after began my own training in breaking and
training young horses. At the completion of my training I traveled
to Washington for additional training and obtained my jockey license
in 1986. I pursued my riding career in the state of Washington for
four years, intermittently traveling to Northern California to race
at tracks such as Bay Meadows, Golden Gate Fields, Santa Rosa, Vallejo,
Pleasanton, Stockton and Fresno.
In 1990, I was offered the opportunity to work at
the racetrack at Macao in the Asian Pacific Islands. During my six-month
stay in this country I gained vast experience in dealing with people
from all different types of backgrounds and cultures. While at the
Macau Jockey Club, I also had the opportunity to visit Hong Kong
and China. It was a very educational experience for me.
Upon my return to the U.S., I returned to school and
after some time off I resumed my jockey career at Santa Anita Park.
I also raced horses at Del Mar, Hollywood Park and Los Alamitos
racetracks and continued until 1998 when I began employment at The
Thoroughbred Corporation in Bradbury, California. During my time
there I rode thousands of horses, including such notable runners
as Horse of the Year Point Given, leading money-earner Spain, champion
2-year-old Anees, and many others.
While on vacation in the Hawaiian Islands in 2000,
I enjoyed filming all the beautiful scenery and points of interests
and became motivated to learn more. Upon my return to Los Angeles,
I immediately enrolled in a class at East Los Angeles City College
in order to learn more. In doing so, I realized it could become
a fun and satisfying career change for me. Subsequently, I invested
in computers and other editing equipment and began to film special
events, first as a hobby, and then I began to offer my services
to friends and family for a fee.
Still employed at the Thoroughbred Corporation, I
was able to film some very beautiful and expensive horses. I initially
began developing video presentations for the owners of the horses,
enabling better communication between trainers and owners. By capturing
the frame-by-frame action of a horse’s daily exercise workout,
I was able to show the owner how a horse was developing without
him or her actually having to be present during the training. Slowly
but surely I began to see the need of video technology in the equine
industry.
Before long I became serious about what had begun
as a hobby. I invested in additional equipment and education and
began actively developing my videography business while continuing
my education. Before long my company grew and on July 5th, 2001,
I incorporated my company
In January, 2003 I resigned from The Thoroughbred
Corporation in order to pursue additional education and give the
company my full attention and dedication.
During the past year I have been avidly marketing my business to
the Thoroughbred industry. I invested in advertising services and
materials for our grand opening, which was at the Del Mar Sale at
Del Mar Racetrack in August, 2003. The company received a positive
response from our questionnaire forms indicating the needs of our
potential clients. In addition to filming horses and special events,
I have also begun to film farms and real estate for marketing purposes.
In addition to videography services, I expanded the
company to include photography, website design, streamline video
presentations, projector services and DVD/CD duplication. The company
also provides services for photo restoration and photo montage.
In March 2004 I was chosen to be a participant for
Mindless Entertainment’s “Extreme Dodgeball”,
a new TV show. It was a two-day production which included a personal
interview of me at Santa Anita Racetrack and a brief history of
my accomplishments and goals. This was a great experience which
allowed me to meet many interesting people in the television industry.
With determination, dedication and hard work,
my goal is to reach the point where I will be able to expand my
business to a national level, manufacture and market an equine-related
clothing line, and sell advertisement space on my website.
